You're right that "Amos Green Must Live" and "If He Can, So Could I" aren't quite comparable. I just mentioned it in the sense that, if the section didn't want Hunters in the field because of Goodliffe Hunter's death, you'd think "hanging out with a guy you know people are planning to assassinate" would make the "things not to do" list. I like the idea of it being more about Hunter not getting his hands dirty than about Hunter putting his life in danger, though. Interesting thought.
The TV show is definitely inconsistent. If you're agonizing over this because of fic, just go with whatever rule makes things easiest in your plot. That's what the official writers did, haha. This is true.
